Aqua blue and orange? or aqua blue and red?

so im getting married in jamaica and haveing a reception when we return. i want to go with the beach theme (not the cheezy hawaiin theme, but ocean/seashells) but i dont know what kind of flowers to have!! my set colors are black and aqua blue. i thought either red rose (which seems more elegant) or orange roses ( which would make it more tropical) which do you like better? and if it was your wedding what kind of flowers would you use?

I think the orange rose would be prettier and less common too.
Reply:if u are getting married in Jamaica and want to go with a jamacian beach theme, do orange with the aqua. it is very tropical and will define your theme well. for table covers i would use aqua colored tablecovers w/ an orange table runner or table topper. for centerpieces use green leaves found in the tropics like palms and elephant ears with orange, white, aqua, peach flowers and if you're really feeling bold, throw one or two red flowers in the mix.
Reply:Red and orange are both pretty but I don't think they go well with aqua blue. That's just me. Others love those combos. Of those two, I would go with peach colored flowers. It's in the orange family but not as bright/dark so that it doesn't look out of place against the aqua.



A great way to figure out colors is with paint chips from a local hardware store.
Reply:i'm going to have to completely disagree with the other posts- i think peach is an old lady color!! go with the orange! and mix it up with different kinds of flowers of the same color famiy; like orange roses, orange hibiscus, and bird of paradise flower arrangements. i think orange looks HOT with aqua.



red has been DONE, i think you have a great opportunity to be unique and original. :)

Reply:If it was my wedding, I would try to find a flower that has more of a peach color. Peach colored roses would be very beautiful.
Reply:I would prefer it with orange, but it would look nice with red as well. Lose the black, though.
Reply:red roses. orange roses work with the theme a little more than red, but red roses give a more classic, beautiful look, that give a tropical wedding more elegance
